The Netherlands is no longer the Netherlands.

The Hague should be a pleasant place to live. It starts with your own street. Every neighborhood will have underground waste containers, and there will be a fixed collection day for bulky waste so people no longer dump it in the dumpsters. We also want to move towards a more circular economy: waste can often be turned into something beautiful. The Hague Climate Pact, initiated by the Hague Labour Party (PvdA), is an important foundation for this. The key principle is that everyone should be able to contribute to a sustainable city, even if their wallet doesn't immediately allow it.

I went here once for a meeting. I spoke with a city council member who told me to my face that he'd help lobby against noise pollution, but then didn't back down, despite repeated insistence. There's also a nice cargo bike in the display case, but my gig as an Uber Eats and Deliveroo rider has been ruined. I could set my own working hours, modern-day, but now I have to go back to a labor model introduced by Henry Ford in 1926... But with climate change (cycling through storms, heavy rain, code red, etc.), a housing shortage (resulting in poor sleep due to noise, etc.)... In short, this is no longer the party for workers. It's simply a party that indirectly represents the interests of big business and pension funds. So yes, we can shout about sustainability and green, but in practice, they're simply killing a sustainable and green initiative (more efficient routes through the gig model). So, to be honest, all my faith in this party has been completely destroyed. My further suggestion is to remove that hideously ugly, non-ergonomic cargo bike from the display. It's a symbol of an outdated ideology that fits well with this party's tree-hugger image. They'd be better off putting my now completely abandoned Fatbike there, as a symbol of a party that fails to stand up for my interests.
