Worst company ever! For small businesses where branding is important, run away!!! They don't grant rights transfers, they don't provide source files, fonts, or color palettes. In other words, you're stuck with them for life if you do anything, and all modifications have to go through them. But the worst part is that they initially tell you the opposite. We asked to design food packaging, explaining that intellectual property is important to us and that we wanted the intellectual property rights to the elements we created in order to register them with the INPI (French National Institute of Industrial Property). We were told not to worry and that everything would belong to us, twice (this was said by both the director and the art director). We developed the packaging just as we were about to register the elements with the INPI, and we asked Viviandis for a rights transfer. The discussion dragged on for months; for a small company, this situation is catastrophic. To summarize, they offered to sell us the rights to three packaging designs for an additional €10,000. Given the urgency and our budget, we made a counter-offer of €2,500, which they accepted. They asked us to draft a contract to finalize the sale. We drafted the contract (having a lawyer draft it cost us over a thousand euros). A few days later, they told us they had changed their minds. Zero work done! Plus, €5,000 lost! And six months of a startup gone.
